I live in a house in the city centre, that is near the places I usually go to. Even though I can drive, I usually walk or take the subway to go around the city. That is mostly because I would have to take my mother's car and pay for the petroil myself, but I can't afford it which makes taking the subway or simply walking the most viable options for me. Although I own a bike, I don't often ride it out of fear of being mugged. I only ever ride a bike when I go to the countryside to visit my father. I don't think the use of bikes are increasing in my city because most people are afraid of having their bikes stolen/robbed when they're in less patrolled areas of the city. Traffic is a huge problem here in my city. Personally, I think this problem can only be solved with the government had any interest in making public transportation cheaper, safer and more accessible for everybody, not only for those who live in the CBD.
