Carta moved to New York when she was 12 years old She has been there for 6 years now She has adapted well to school and the American way of life even though her family has kept their orginal culture within their family walls She has a few American friends, but she feels that some kids at High School look at her terey because she is a foreigner That strange look makes her feel that she does not belong here She feels awkward and sad sometimes She affirms that some people are more open about their prejudice and she does not feel al of them are very accepting towards people from other cultures Fortunately, only a minority of people read that way towards her and her family Most people are nice and welcoming to her Despite that negative reaction, her family does not plan on leaving the US any soon education there due to jobs and  education there<br>
