What is the intention when one says "You ought to help the elderly" and "You should help the elderly"?

In both sentences you expect the person to do what's been said, like it's their duty to act/behave in a certain way.

The main difference between "ought to" and "should" is that while "should" is used for general advice/recommendation/something desirable to happen, "ought to" is used similarly to modal verb should, but in a deeper and personal level.
