"Ain't" é uma expressão equivalente a, principalmente, "am not" e "are not" (aren't). Em um trecho da música podemos observar isso, por exemplo, em: "There ain't no mountain high enough" (Não há montanha alta o suficiente), que pode ser desmembrada em "There are not no mountain high enough" (Não há montanha alta o suficiente). É utilizado de maneira informal, por isso é mais visto em letras de música de hip-hop e rap. É visto até como vulgar, para algumas pessoas. O uso de "Ain't" cresceu bastante e, por isso, passou a substituir outras expressões, além das já citadas. São elas: "is not" (isn’t); "has not" (hasn’t); "have not" (haven’t); did not (didn't). Resumindo, tudo que é expresso como: não, não sou, não fiz, acaba virando o simples “Ain’t”. Há também um outro uso de "Ain't", que seria no lugar da expressão “there is not anything” (não existe nada). Ex: De "There is not anything like home“ para "Ain’t nothing like home”.
