1. I played the piano (Eu tocava piano
2. She tried to read that book. (Ela tentou ler aquele livro)
3. I wrote letters to my friends. (Eu escrevia cartas aos meus amigos)

1. negative: I didn't play the piano.

interrogative: Did she play the piano?

2. negative: She didn't try to read that book.

interrogarive: Did she try to read that book?

3. negative: I didn't write letters to my friends.

interrogarive: Did I write letters to my friends?
