The hamburger, introduced by’ Germans at the World’s Fair In St. Louis, Missouri in 1904, is named for the port of Hamburg in Germany. The name “hamburger” comes from this German town, not the ingredients. A hamburger is “beef in a bun”- there isn’t any ham in it.
Today, the hamburger is the most popular fast food in the world and twelve thousand people order one in the United States every minutel. You can have lots of different styles of hamburgers or you can order other things in a bun. Next time, try a fishburger, a chickenburger or even a veggieburger.
