Tempos Verbais expressam a relação entre uma ação ou evento e o tempo. Basicamente, a forma verbal transmite a ideia do período de tempo desde o acontecimento da ação até o momento em que o mesmo é falado. Além disso, o tempo verbal indica a duração e quando e se a ação expressa está completa. Conhecê-los, saber bem usá-los e aplicá-los garantem a boa compreensão da leitura do texto em inglês.
Identifique os verbos nas orações abaixo, classificando o seu tempo verbal. Exemplo na frase abaixo o primeiro verbo identificado é works: Presente Simples (afirmativa).
1) My father works in a company. Yesterday he did not work, because the workers are on strike. They are demanding a rise on their salaries. They have been demanding it since last year, but so far no rise has been given.
2) I saw Fred this morning. He was going home. Last time, when I met him, he had given me a book of math. He gave this book because he has been thinking about stopping studying. I told him not to do it. I said to him "I am going to teach you math".
3) What are you doing?
I am studying. Tomorrow I will have an English test. I am going to study English until midnight. I hope I will get a good grade!
4) The train leaves the station at 9 am every day. You will arrive at the station at 9.15 am. When you arrive, the train will have left.
5) John bought a new car yesterday. He had been saving money for a long time. He had just left his garage when someone crashed it. His car has no insurance. He is going to get his car fixed, but he will wait for a while since he has no money at the moment.
