Simple Past of Verb To Be (passado simples do verbo To Be ) O verbo to be no passado tem semelhanças com o verbo no presente. Enquanto no presente temos três formas, Am, is e are, no passado temos duas formas, Was e Were. Com os pronomes I, he, she e it, usamos was. Mas se usamos you, we e They usamos were.  Ex: Mary is a dentist. She was very busy yesterday. (Mary é dentista. Ela estava muito ocupada ontem) As formas interrogativas e negativas seguem a mesma regra do presente. Interrogativa : Verbo To Be + sujeito. Ex: * Was she busy yesterday? ( Ela estava ocupada ontem ? ) Negativa: Sujeito + verbo to be + not. Ex: She was not (ou wasn`t) busy yesterday. Exercises: 1. Complete the sentences
with was ou were ( complete as frases com was ou were) a) I ...............happy yesterday. ( Eu estava feliz ontem ) b) you ....................angry with me. ( Você estava zangado comigo ) c) Yesterday ................. a Holiday. ( ontem foi feriado) d) It ......................hot this morning. ( estava quente esta manhã)
