Robert: Sure. I was born on May 13, 1986, in London, England and I have two sisters, Lizzie and Victoria. My father, Richard, is an importer of American cars and my mother, Clare, works for a modeling agency. Interviewer: When did you start acting? Robert: I started acting in amateur plays with the Barnes Theatre Company when I was 15. After that, I got a supporting role in a television movie in 2004. Interviewer: Did you do any acting at school? Robert: I never did acting at school. I was quite shy. Interviewer: What about your first major job in the movies? Robert: My first major job was for the Potter franchise. In 2005, I played the role of Cedric Diggory in Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire. Interviewer: What did you do after that? Robert: After Harry Potter, I played the role of the vampire Edward Cullen in the Twilight series. Interviewer: Can you tell us about your other hits? Robert: In 2010, I produced and starred in the film Remember Me, which was released on March 2010. In 2011, I starred in Water for Elephants, a film adaptation of the Sara Gruen novel of the same name, with Christoph Waltz and Reese Witherspoon, and I played Georges Duroy in a film adaptation of the 1885 novel Bel Ami, with Uma Thurman. I also appeared in a theatre production. Interviewer: Can you play any instruments? Robert: Yes. I can play both the guitar and the piano. I began taking piano lessons at the age of three and classical guitar at five. I also write my own music. One of them is in the Twilight movies. Interviewer: Do you have any plans to start a professional music career, too? Robert: No, I don’t think so. I just played in pubs and stuff. Music is my back-up plan if acting fails
