Jack and Liz are old friends; Jack and Li met in elementary school many year ago. Jack is in love with Liz, so Jack wants propose to Liz. Liz likes Jack as a friend, but Liz doesn't think of as Jack as boyfriend. We know that, if Liz says "no' to Jack will be devaste. But Jack did not ask Mary and me what our opinion was, so there is nothing Mary and I can do to stop.
