x²  + y² = 100
x² + (2 - x)² = 100
x² + x² - 4x + 4 = 100
2x² - 4x  - 96 = 0
x² - 2x - 48 = 0
(x - 8)(x + 6) = 0
x - 8 = 0 ⇒ x' = 8  ⇒  y = 2 - 8 ⇒ y = - 6
x + 6 = 0  ⇒ x'' = -6  ⇒  y = 2 - (-6) ⇒ y = 8
