O texto de Mark Brown é uma reportagem sobre uma exposição realizada pela Biblioteca Britânica voltada para a língua inglesa. O período coberto pela exposição é o de 1500 anos de história, desde as runas anglo-saxônicas e os primeiros dicionários, até textos atuais como rap.
