a) After thirty-five years of hard work, Mr. Memphis retired and left Chicago to live in a small town with his wife Sarah and two dogs. Sarah Memphis just loved her new life, taking care of the garden, planting new flowers, walking with the dogs. But Mr. Memphis soon got a new job, and went back to the old routine of getting up early, working hard all day, and feeling tired and stressed. It’s what he’s used to doing, and he cannot change it. Why couldn’t Mr. Memphis stay retired?
b) The plan was well designed. Tony would get his girlfriend Jean out of her house by inviting her to watch a movie. Then, her friends would go in and prepare her a surprise birthday party. After about half an hour, Tony would invent an excuse to return to Jean’s house and they would all surprise Jean. The problem is that, when he got to her house, Jean was too well dressed for just a movie: she was wearing more makeup than usual, and she couldn’t hide a big smile. Tony began to feel a little suspicious. What was Tony’s suspicion?

a) He could not stay retired because he is used to getting up early, working hard all day, and feeling tired and stressed, and he does not want to change that.
b) Tonys suspicion was that Jean already knew about the surprise birthday party, since she was more well dressed to a movie, and wore more makeup than usual, and also had a big smile on.
