a) x² +25 = 0

x²  = -25

x = ± √-25

x = ± i√25

x = ± 5i

S = {-5i, 5i}

b) 2x² +98 =0

2x² = -98

x² = -49

x = ±√-49

x = ±7i

S = {-7i, 7i}

c) x² -2x +2 = 0

∆ = 4 -8 = -4

x = (2 ±√-4)/2

x = (2 ± 2i)/2

x = 1 ±i

S = {1 -i, 1 +i}

d) x² -10x +40 = 0

∆ = 100 -160 = -60

x = (10 ±√-60)/2

x = (10 ± 2i√15)/2

x = 5 ± i√15

S = {5 - i√15, 5 + i√15}
