Existem algumas regrinhas que usamos para conjugar os verbos no Simple Present. De maneira bem resumida, como você observou, o verbo não sofre alteração com os pronomes I, you, they, we. Já com os pronomes he, she, it, devemos adicionar a letra s. Porém, isso não é tudo: em alguns casos adicionaremos -es ou -ies.
