Resposta:
Biological pyramids are the way we can think of how living beings in an echosystem are able to feed, live, and be eaten by other living beings.
Energy flows through the biological pyramid, from the basis to the top of the pyramid.
On the basis, there are the first beings to get energy, they get this energy from where all energy comes from (in our Planet): The sun.
So, on the basis of a biological pyramid there will always be Plants, because they are the ones capable of capturing the energy first, from the source, from the Sun, through photosynthesis.
The next beings, after plants, to get energy, are the vegertarian beings, such as certain animals and insects, who feed on plants. They are above the plants in the pyramid, they get the energy in second place.
Carnivores, beings who feed on other animals, are above those, they get energy from feeding on other animals.
At the top of the pyramid, there are always bacterias who are capable of decomposing matter. They feed on dead animals and plants. They are reponsible for the rotten matter.
Beings are larger on the basis of the pyramid because they get more energy, from the source (the Sun), while the higher you go on the pyramid, the smaller the living beings get, because the energy is harder to get.
Eatinh plants gives animals more energy than eating other animals, so herbivores (vegetarians) tend to be bigger animals than predators (carnivores).
