O was/were vem na frete em pergunta então:

Interrogative: Was Cecilia a teacher?

E em negativa é wasn't e weren't então:

Negative: Celília wasn't a teacher

Interrogative: Were the birds hungry?

Negative: The birds weren't hungry

Interrogative: Is the doctor young?

Negative: The doctor isn't young

Interrogative: Are my mother and my father happy?

Negative: My mother and my father aren't happy

Interrogative: Am I Pilot?

Negative: I'm not pilot
