You use the Comparative of Superiority when do you want to say that something is superior to something else.
To use this comparative you have to use:
verb to be + verb with the comparative + than
When the verb has 5 letters or less, you add ER at the end of it.
Ex:
Cold = Colder
Gentle = Gentler
When the verb has one vowel between two consonants, you repeat the last letter + ER. Ex:
Big = Bigger
Now, when the verb has more than 5 letters, you repeat the verb and add MORE before it.
verb to be + MORE + verb with comparative + than
The Irregular Verbs:
Good = Better
Bad = Worse
Far = Farther / Further
a) better than
b) larger / than
c) more profitable
d) more successful than
e) faster than
