A Very Small Chameleon
Scientists find a new type of chameleon. A chameleon is a type
of lizard. It lives in the rainforest in northern Madagascar. It is
the smallest chameleon in the world.
Scientists see only two chameleons. One chameleon is a male.
One chameleon is a female. They are as big as a sunflower seed. Scientists are not sure if they
are adults. Scientists do not know if adults are bigger.
People in Madagascar are poor. They do not have enough money and food. They cut down trees.
They need fields where they grow rice.
Many types of animals live in the rainforest When the rainforest disappears, the animals will die. It
is possible that the new chameleon will die, too.
