Presente Simples e Presente Contínuo
O Simple Present é usado para descrever ações que ocorrem com frequência no tempo presente. Exemplo: trabalhar, dormir, comer etc. É só utilizar o presente do verbo to be ou dos demais verbos.
Para os demais verbos, você deve acrescentar um "es", "ies" ou "s" ao final deles, quando conjugados, para as pessoas "she", "he" e "it". Ex.:
- I am happy. (verbo to be)
- Eu sou feliz.
- She seems happy. (verbo seem - acrescenta-se um "s")
- Ela parece feliz.
- He studies all day, but their brothers don't study. (study - "ies")
- Ele estuda o dia todo, mas seus irmãos não estudam.
O Present Continuous mostra uma ação que está ocorrendo nesse exato momento, ou algo que está em processo. Sua estrutura se dá da seguinte forma:
- verbo To Be + gerúndio (ou seja, a terminação "ing" após os verbos).
Ex.:
- I am trying to buy a new stereo for my bedroom.
- Estou tentando comprar um novo som para o meu quarto.
- My brother is coming to stay with me for a few days next week.
- Meu irmão está vindo ficar comigo por alguns dias na próxima semana.
