  • 1) We can consider teaching vocabulary in an EFL context challenging, because the vocabulary learning is limitaded to a lack of a second language like portuguese, for example. Besides, most words the students  learn and exercises only at classroom.

  • I think ESL context is well played because through repetition the students could learn vocabulary, improving fluency faster than the EFL challange. But, new words are always could be a big problem to introduce, because the lack of daily exercise could cause disappearence into oblivion of these words. But as in EFL as in ESL the professional could do some knacks to teach better.

2) Teaching through authentic ways like recording videos could help the students to develop creativity, self confidence, team spirit and willingness to learn. It might affect them positively to search for a good relationship with society. It also provides real-life examples of language used in everyday situations.

3) It starts with preparing the students through activities. Then, the teacher focuses on the strategies as understanding tasks that aim at, first general, then, itemized understanding of the content of the text.

It could ends with a follow-up activity that sums up the text, connects it to the students' life experiences, or lead them to react to it.

4) The aims of teaching receptive skills is to help the students to develop the necessary skills to comprehension and interpret spoken or written materials.

It's important that the teacher avoid concentrating only on testing the students’ execution in getting the meaning of the texts and aim, instead, at training them to use the reading and listening strategies that enable them to deal with any type of text.

5) It depends on the phase but we can consider some reading strategies essentials to any phase.
