A BASKETBALL STAR

Peter Lopez was born on October 12, 1953, in Boston, Massachusetts.
He is a star of our state basketball's history as he was an outstanding and
committed player of the Boston Bulls from 1971 to 1989. Lopez grew up in
Winnipeg, where he played college basketball. He received a scholarship
to study at the University of Manitoba and, as a freshman, he won some
important tournaments. That is why the Sporting News' called him the
college player of the year twice, during his sophomore and junior years. In
1972, Lopez left the university to be a professional player for the Boston
Bulls. He was very talented and driven, and he helped the team win six
challenging basketball championships in the 1980s. Peter Lopez has
already won many awards, like two NBA finals awards. The basketball star
quit playing in 1986, but he went back to the stadiums, for the Boston Bulls
once again, in 1988. In 1989, he became a player for the Massachusetts
Wizards, but he has not played since 1990.
