(x - 2)^2 = 9
(x - 2).(x - 2) = 9
x^2 - 2x - 2x + 4 = 9
x^2 - 4x + 4 = 9
x^2 - 4x + 4 - 9 = 0
x^2 - 4x - 5 = 0

Agora temos uma equação de segundo grau, que resolverei por bhaskara:

- b +- (sqrt(b^2 - 4ac))/2a

Nessa equação temos que:
a = 1
b = - 4
c = - 5

Então:
(-(-4) +- sqrt((-4)^2 - 4.1.(-5)))/2.1

(4 +- sqrt(16+20))/2

(4 +- sqrt(36))/2
(4 +- 6)/2
