The Proclamation of the Brazilian Republic, also referred to in the History of Brazil as a Republican Coup, [1] was a political-military coup d'état, which occurred on November 15, 1889, which established the presidential republican form of government in Brazil, ending the monarchy parliamentary constitutional structure of the Empire and, consequently, removing the then head of state, Emperor D.
