Weather in the UK

In the UK there are four seasons, spring, summer, autumn, and winter, and the weather is different in each of them. The end of the winter season is the start of the spring season, but it takes many weeks for the weather to change and for people to notice the difference.

The summer is the season with the best weather. In general, it is hot and sunny with only a little rain sometimes. But it can sometimes be cold and a little rainy for one or two weeks. British people like to have a lot of time outside when it is nice in the summer. After the summer is the autumn. In this season the weather gets colder and there are stronger winds, and it rains more. All the leaves start to fall off the trees as it is cold.

Winter is the coldest season in the UK. The temperature is often at 0ºC. There might be snow, but the UK does not get a lot of snow. Then when winter ends the spring starts. The temperature starts to get warmer and plants start to grow again, new leaves form, and flowers bloom. People in the UK love spring!
