Sufixos

Um sufixo é uma letra ou um grupo de letras que são adicionadas ao final de uma palavra para fazer uma nova palavra. Geralmente, os sufixos têm um significado particular. Quando um sufixo é adicionado a uma palavra base e essa palavra base se torna um verbo, chama-se sufixo verbal.

Aprender os significados dos sufixos resulta em duas vantagens fundamentais. Eles podem ajudá-lo a:

  • aumentar o seu vocabulário;
  • descobrir o significado de palavras desconhecidas com facilidade.

Muitas palavras em inglês são formadas a partir da mesma raiz ou palavra base. Ao adicionar sufixos diferentes, é possível formar uma gama de novas palavras.
