THE TITANIC SINKS WITH 1,800 ON BOARD
The British luxury passenger liner Titanic sank (a) on 15 th April, 1912 when it was crossing (b) the Atlantic. It was its first voyage! It was carrying (c) 2,200 passengers and 1,513 of them died (d). That night the Titanic was going (e) very fast, which was dangerous because there were icebergs around. The passengers were having (f) a good time when the ship suddenly hit (g) one of these icebergs. At first people were doing (h) nothing because they believed (i) the Titanic was “unsinkable”. But the ship was filling (j) with water quickly and sank (k), in less than three hours. The passengers tried (l) to save themselves but there were not enough lifeboats. Women and children were saved first so most men had (m) no chance of survival. Another ship was passing (n) nearby but it didn’t stop (o). The musicians of the Titanic were still playing when it went (p) down. It was one of the worst sea disasters of all time.
