The Fault in Our Stars is a 2014 American romantic comedy-drama film directed by Josh Boone,based on the novel of the same name by John Green. The film stars Shailene Woodley, Ansel Elgort, and Nat Wolff, with Laura Dern, Sam Trammell, and Willem Dafoe playing supporting roles. The script makes the curious option of hiding all elements unrelated to the main couple: nothing is known about Hazel's life in college, very little about the lives of parents or friends. The focus is on us both, the whole time. The protagonists are in scene in all the images, something that can seem reductive to describe the surrounding environment, but that allows a deepening in the personality of each one.It is a risky bet, but it yields its fruits. After tinkering with a controversial theme the film also addresses speculations about life and
death, and how we know so little about it. He portrays youth in a serious but affectionate way, while reflecting on the essential question of the mark left by each person on those who love it. Both the film and the book explore the beautiful metaphor of the infinite to face forgetfulness, the passage of time and the fear of
death.
