AMYR KLINK

Seeing the world with his own eyes

Amyr Klink is the first man to sail across the Atlantic Ocean, from the coast of

Africa to the coast of Brazil, alone on a very small sailboat. He has sailed more

than 25,000 miles to five continents on boats that he himself builds. He hates

(1); the sea and boats are his passion. He enjoys being away from cities and

their noise in the middle of the ocean. The waves, the sky, the stars and the

sea animals are so interesting that he (2).

Amyr feels a sense of freedom and happiness at sea. He is married to Marina

Bandeira and they have three children, identical twins Tamara and Laura, and

Marina, their youngest. They all live in Paraty, (3), in a house by the sea without

electricity. The sea is important to them because it keeps the family together.

Amyr enjoys writing about his travels. He says expensive cars, clothes and

other possessions are temporary. He only needs enough money to build the

best possible sailboat for his next adventure at sea.
