RESUMO: O presente artigo tem como objetivo apresentar os resultados da
implementação do Projeto de Intervenção Pedagógica realizada com
professores da Sala de Apoio do Núcleo Regional de Educação (NRE) de
Maringá sobre a leitura e a interpretação de problemas de matemática no
ensino fundamental. Tal discussão procurou apontar alguns dos principais
problemas decorrentes das deficiências na leitura e interpretação de problemas
de matemática e suas conseqüências para a aprendizagem, assim como
atentar para a relevância do desenvolvimento de um trabalho específico com a
leitura de enunciados de problemas nas aulas de matemática. Procuramos
descrever alguns processos cognitivos que contribuem para a compreensão e
interpretação de textos, e discutir diferentes estratégias para a leitura dos
enunciados dos problemas matemáticos, bem como sua viabilidade em sala de
aula.

ABSTRACT: The present article has as objective makes knonon the results of
the implementation of the Project of Intervention Pedagogic accomplished with
teachers of the Room of Support of the Núcleo Regional de Educação (NRE) of
Maringá about the reading and the interpretation of mathematics problems in
the fundamental teaching. Such discussion tried to point some of the main
current problems of the deficiencies in the reading and interpretation of
mathematics problems and their consequences for the learning, as well as
looking out the relevancy of the development of a specific assigment with the
reading of statements of problems in the mathematics classes. We tried to
describe some cognitive processes that you/they contribute to the
understanding and interpretation of texts, and to discuss different strategies for
the reading of the statements of the mathematical problems, as well as it
viability in classroom.
INTRODUÇÃO
A experiência no magistério, particularmente nas aulas de Matemática da 5a
série do ensino fundamental, tem revelado que a maioria dos alunos se
