O tempo do Simple Past é utilizado em inglês para se referir a ações já concluídas (tiveram início e fim no passado).

A regra para formar o Simple past na forma afirmativa é acrescentar ED, IED, ou D ao final do verbo regular, no modo infinitivo e sem o TO.

Na forma negativa é utilizado o auxiliar DID para indicar o tempo verbal, assim o verbo aparece no tempo presente. A estrutura é: Sujeito - DID NOT (DIDN'T) - verbo - complemento.

A forma interrogativa também utiliza o auxiliar DID. A frase é iniciada pelo DID e segue a mesma estrutura padrão, podendo ou não apresentar o NOT.

O Presente perfeito, tempo em que algumas das frases do enunciado se encontram, é utilizado para se referenciar a ações passadas que perduram ou influenciam até hoje. Também é usado para ações atuais ou que recém encerraram.

A forma correta de aplicação do presente perfeito (Present Perfect) de modo afirmativo segue a estrutura:

verbo auxiliar to have (has para SHE/HE/IT, have para os outros pronomes) + presente simples + particípio passado do verbo principal

Para os verbos regulares, basta a adição da terminação -d, -ed, -ied.
