Simple Past Tense I
O passado simples é usado para expressar ações acabadas em um tempo definido. É geralmente empregado com advérbios de tempo: yesterday, ago, last, etc. Verbos regulares: no modo geral acrescenta-se ed ao infinitivo dos verbos. Exemplo: I walked to school yesterday.

* Nas formas negativas e interrogativas usa-se o verbo auxiliar did e o verbo principal fica no infinitivo sem to..
Negativa: She did not walk to school yesterday.
Interrogativa: Did she walk to school yesterday?
* Formas abreviadas: didn't (did not)
Nota: o passado simples pode expressar também hábitos passados.
Exemplo: I always walked to school when I was five years old.
