William Shakespeare (1564-1616) was an English playwright and poet. Author of famous tragedies like "Hamlet", "Othelo", "Macbeth" and "Romeo and Juliet". He is considered one of the greatest writers of all time.
William Shakespeare was born in Stratford-upon-Avon, Warwick County, England, on April 23, 1564. Son of John Shakespeare and Mary Arden, his father was a wool merchant and became treasurer and mayor of Stratford. He studied at the college of the city and at age 13, the family was impoverished, the young man had to leave his studies and work in the father's trade. At age 18, she married Anne Hathaway, nine years her senior. Five months later, his first daughter Susan was born, and then the twins Judith and Hamnet. At that time, Shakespeare was already writing verses and watching all the representations of the companies that came to Stratford.
