Dear Luka,
I am glad you answered my email, i had been looking for an e-pal for a while now and it is great to have finally met someone who is also interested in improving his education.
From what you have said, you study at a great school and the education system in your country is very good. I also go to a very good school here in my contry, but that is not the case of all the schools here. Although there are excellent public schools, most are not very good, so my parents chose to enroll me and my siblings in a private one. But that doesn't mean we are rich, my parents just do everything they can so we can have a good education.
Another difference from your country is that here we cannot choose the subjects we want to study; everyone studies all the same things all the way through school. It seems to be real nice that you can choose some subjects you are more interested in. Oh, and your grades in school are not really imporant to get into college because at the end of high school you have to take a test your score in this test is all that matters. So that means that anyone can get a higher education, not only the top students in a school. I think that is good, because everyone should be given a second chance.
Well, to be honest I haven't yet decided what I want to study in college. The only thing I know for sure is that I don't like the exact sciences. What about you? You are going to college at the end of the year, right? What are you going to study?

Fico satisfeita que tenha respondido ao meu e-mail, tenho procurado por um amigo virtual há já algum tempo e foi ótimo encontrar finalmente alguém que também está interessado em melhorar a sua educação.

Pelo que vc me contou, estuda numa ótima escola e o sistema educacional no seu país é muito bom. Eu também frequento uma boa escola aqui no meu país, mas não é assim com todas elas. Embora haja excelentes escolas públicas, a maioria não tem qualidade, por isso os meus pais escolheram inscrever-me e aos meus irmãos numa escola privada. Isto não significa que somos ricos, os meus pais apenas fazem tudo que podem para que tenhamos uma boa educação.

Outra diferença para o seu país é que aqui não podemos escolher as matérias que desejamos estudar; todos estudam a mesma coisa seja no ensino fundamental ou médio. Parece uma coisa bastante interessante você poder escolher as matérias em que está mais interessado. Ah, e as suas notas na escola não são assim tão importantes para entrar na universidade, porque no final do ensino médio você tem de fazer um exame, e o resultado que obtiver nesse exame é o que vai contar. Portanto, isso quer dizer que qualquer um pode conseguir uma melhor educação, não apenas os melhores alunos de uma escola. Eu acho que isso é bom, pois devia ser dada uma segunda oportunidade para todos.

Bem, para ser honesta ainda não decidi o que quero estudar na faculdade. A única coisa que sei de certeza, é que não gosto de ciências exatas. E você? Vai para a faculdade no fim do ano, certo? O que vai estudar?
