a)  x + y = 8
     x - y = 2

Então: x=5 e y=3

5 - 3 = 2

b) x -2y =18
    x+4y = 6

Então: x=14 e y=-2

Assim temos.

14 -2*(-2) = 14+4 = 18
14+4*(-2) = 14-8 = 6

c) 4x+2y=16
    5x-3y=9

Então: x=3 e y=2

Assim temos.

4*3+2*2 = 12+4 = 16
5*3 - 3*2 = 15-6 = 9

d) 4x-y=3
    2x+3y=19

Então: x=2 e y=5

Assim temos:

4*2-5 = 8-5 = 3
2*2+3*5 = 4+15 = 19

e) x+3y=1
    5x+3y=17

Então: x= 4 e y=-1

Assim temos.
4+3*(-1) = 4-3 = 1
5*4+3*(-1) = 20-3 = 17
