Passado simples, no texto ele indica algo que aconteceu algo mas não continuou acontecendo, por exemplo, seria passado continuo caso ele falasse "He was inventing scissors", ele estava inventando a tesoura, mas no texto fala "He invented scissors", ele inventou a tesoura. Deu pra entender? espero ter ajudado
