A mother frog lays its eggs on a leaf. The eggs must stay safe. So the father frog watches
over them. Soon, small tadpoles come out of the eggs. A tadpole is a young frog. It has a
head, body, and tail. It will need to live in water. Tadpoles wriggle onto a parent’s back.
The parent carries each tadpole to a place with water. It can swim, eat, and grow there. A
cup in a plant is a good place for a tadpole. Rainwater stays in the cup. The parent puts
each tadpole in a cup. The mother frog brings each tadpole food. The food helps it grow.
Each tadpole grows legs and arms. It loses its tail. The parents took care of their tadpoles.
They helped the tadpoles grow into young frogs.
