Esse tempo verbal é conhecido como present continuous.

Para usar esse tempo verbal, é muito simples – basta colocar o “verbo to be” correspondente (am, is ou are) e acrescentar -ing ao final do verbo principal. Então, temos: verbo to be + verbo com –ing.

They are studying for the test now.
(Eles estão estudando para a prova agora.)

She is not (isn’t) working at the bar anymore.
(Ela não está mais trabalhando no bar.)
