Present Continuous Affirmative

O tempo verbal Present Continuous é feito com uma forma do presente do verbo to be

(am/are/is) + a forma terminada em ing do verbo principal.Descreve uma ação que está

acontecendo agora (now), no momento (at the moment).

to speak - speaking

Present Continuous Simple Present

I am speaking I speak

You are speaking You speak

He is speaking He speaks

She is speaking She speaks

It is speaking It speaks

We are speaking We speak

Regra geral do continuos: acrescentar o ‘ing’ ao final do verbo principal, mas como toda

regra tem sua exceção, vejamos:

1) Verbos terminados em “e”- omite-se essa letra antes do acréscimo de ‘ing’:

Ex.: to write - writing

to love - loving

to make - making

2) Verbos terminados em ‘c-v-c” ( consoante-vogal -consoante), dobra-se a consoante final

antes do acréscimo de -ing.

to stop - stopping

to shop -shopping
