No one knows when the Mayan Civilization was born and it is not easy to define who they are. It can be considered that it appeared like town or towns around 2500 a.C., and its better time began in 900 d. C., and ends in the sixteenth century, before the arrival of the Spaniards. It may be said that the Maya have not a single origin nor a common language, nor did they constitute a single nation, but were a conglomerate of city-states. The zone they occupied encompasses districts of today, Mexico, Honduras, Belize, and El Salvador, and they are the product of emigrations of tribes from the altiplano, all of the same family and arrived in Central America from the north.
