Olha, é bem fácil. A expressão "used to" = costumava.
Quando for formular uma frase com essa expressão, apenas acrescente o "used to" e em seguida, coloque o verbo no INFINITIVO. Não precisa alterar mais nada na frase, apenas isso: "used to" + verbo no infinitivo.
"I walked to work" -> Antes do verbo, coloque o "used to" e depois, modifique o verbo para que fique no infinitivo => I used to walk to work.
