A questão pede para analizar os verbos em negrito e ver o que vem após eles. Certos verbos são seguidos pela forma no gerúndio de outros verbos (stop being) e outros pela forma no infinitivo (tend to suffer). O verbo to try é um que pode ser seguido por ambos (tried going, try to lose). Existem verbos que só podem ser seguidos por uma forma, outros aceitam qualquer uma, podendo ou não mudar o significado.

Some of these verbs are following by INFINITIVE FORM and others are following by an GERUND. The verb STOP is following by both forms.
