It was the first day of school after summer vacation and all the kids were excited to meet their new teacher and make new friends. As an icebreaker, the teacher suggested some games and asked the kids to introduced themselves, telling each other about their families, favorite foods, pets and whatever else they would like to share. It was all going really well until one of the students turned to his friend and asked him:

- What is your worst fear?

The whole class heard the question and everyone started answering it at the same, making a huge mess.

- Hey everybody! why don't we share our fears one at a time, so we can all hear each other? - said the teacher

And so they did. Each at a time, students began talking about their fears, paying attention to what the others had to say. But in the last row of the classroom, quiet and huddled, a little girl sat silently, looking very sad and afraid. No one knew that student or anything about her, she seemed to be new at the school.

Eventually, it was her turn to share her fears with the class. As she stayed silent, the teacher tried to encourage her:

- It’s your turn...

- Cora - she answered. My name is Cora Dale. I don’t want to talk about my fears

- Why, Cora? - The teacher asked

- I just don’t feel comfortable...

A boy’s voice came from the one of the front rows:

- Go, Cora! Stop being weird

After that, all the students started yelling at the girl, and her face turned red. As her classmates’ voices echoed in her ears, the lights started flickering and the desks started to shake. The windows closed with a bang and everyone fell quiet. The lights went off and soon the dark room was filled with choking sounds, as the kids agonized and died one by one.

Cora, the mysterious girl, got up and stepped forward, dodging her classmates’ corpses. Whispering, she said:

- I am afraid of myself.
