Time and place: It takes place in the nineteenth century in the fictional town of Meryton, in Hertfordshire, not far from London.

Synopsis:  The five Bennet sisters - Elizabeth, Jane, Lydia, Mary and Kitt - were raised by a mother who was determined to find them husbands who would secure their future. But Elizabeth wants to have a life wider than just devoting herself to her husband, being supported by her father. When Mr. Bingley, a wealthy bachelor, moves into a neighboring mansion, the sisters soon become agitated. Jane soon seems to win the heart of the new neighbor, while Elizabeth meets the handsome, snobbish mr. Darcy. The encounters between Elizabeth and Darcy happen to be more and more constant, although they always discuss.
Opinion: The construction of the characters is enchanting, and the way in which they shape up according to the society in which they live, shows all the genius of Austen. The text is denser, and requires a bit more of the reader's involvement with the book, but in contrast the chapters are rather short.
The novel is a side story, I doubt anyone can fall in love with Lizzy and Darcy. Austen is a scandal to build novels and make us fall in love with them, proof of this is two hundred years later she still enchants thousands and thousands of people.
