O passado perfeito no inglês (Past Perfect) é geralmente acompanhado pelo passado simples para indicar que algo aconteceu antes que algo mais acontecesse. Assim a estrutura da oração fica:

• Oração Afirmativa: Sujeito + “had” + participio passado…

• Oração Negativa: Sujeito + “had” + “not” + participio passado

O Past Perfect é usado em três situações:
