The present work refers to the intervention in gender-based violence and the (in) effectiveness of the mechanisms used to protect women's rights and to eradicate violence in this context. Gender violence, as will be demonstrated, is not a new fact and may be related to other factors of inequality, such as sexual orientation, ethnicity, age, social class and so on.
