He didn’t know everything about us. He was a writer, not a boy. Writers don’t know everything about boys! Now I’m going to tell you some more of my story. But first, I’m going to remind you about myself. I was born in St Petersburg, in the state of Missouri. St Petersburg is on the western shore of the Mississippi River. My mother died a long time ago. After that, my father left the town and I lived alone.
