 INTERNATIONAL WOMEN'S DAY

 International Women's Day  is celebrated on 8 March around the world.  It is a focal point in the movement for women's rights. March 8 became a national holiday there. Example: Case of Madalena, a slave since the age of eight, exposes a living legacy of slavery in Brazil

An extreme example of the racist social pact that endures in the country in the 21st century, Madalena Gordiano was a domestic servant of a wealthy family for four decades without pay or vacation.

  She never had a salary, days off or vacation, according to prosecutors investigating the case. When Madalena Gordiano was rescued on November 27, 2020, she was a 46-year-old woman with very short hair and great difficulty in expressing herself.
