well first of all we should create a volunteer center where everyone who wanted to help our city would donate things from food to objects to help those especially affected by the disaster for instance here in Brazil is very common especially in the summer to have huge floods and rains that often lead to house's falling apart as well as leaving several areas impossible to live! there i would try to find places to those people live first, such as a parent's house or a friend's if the affected person wouldn't have any of those i would offer my own house and build just like a camp outside full of tents for those people to settle down in those days following the disaster after i would engage in a political effort for the mayor of my city to build new houses for the people and build far for those risk areas! of course it wouldn't be an easy task especially when we are talking about politics here in Brazil but i would use from my personal network to engage influential people here to change the politics mind and build house for free and pay for the furniture and home appliances that were lost as well in the disaster! also make all the arrangements for the next year's summer season to prevent and avoid that those disaster could happen once again especially building houses that were far away for those risk areas and removing all the people that were living in those risk areas as well! then and only then i would cease my efforts and return to my day to day life! knowing that my fellow citizens are all safe and without risk to be affected by floods once again!
