How old is our Universe? Explain in your own words how it was formed.

The universe is approximately 13.8 billion years old. It was formed soon after “Big bang” this theory says that our universe, as we know, started with a small singularity, then inflated over the next 13.8 billion years to the cosmos that we know today.
